Colours of Bridesmaids Shoes: Beyond Basic Black or White

by admin on May 7, 2011

Black may coordinate with everything, and white with many, but sometimes dresses and colour schemes lie between those end points. Thankfully, bridesmaid shoes come in many different shades and colours that allow brilliant coordination with dresses. Red satin, ivory platforms, silver mesh and gold solids just begin the list of colourful footwear for the bridesmaid.

The hot pink of a Gardenia platform shoe elevates the simplicity of the shoe’s basic design. The peep toe tops the graceful platform that allows greater comfort with the high, stiletto heel. The single black stripe that rests just forward of the heel brings the snappiness of this coordination to light. Even the black shoe offsets the uniformity with a subtle blue stripe that separates this shoe from a monochrome profile.

The Side Bow Platform sandal combines eternal simplicity, old-fashioned frill and contemporary style. The wide, deep blue toe strap envelopes the balls of the feet while leaving the toes uncovered for comfort during warm weather, aided by the open sides of the shoe. Avoiding the inconvenience and occasional difficulty with buckles or ties, this shoe sneaks in a side zip fastening for quick ingress or egress. The brassy bow complements the 10.5cm stiletto heel and hints at the 1930s and 1940s style. Retro and modern combine in this blue-only shoe.

Taupe, aqua and green shoes extend the colours available today but far from limit the rainbow of colour choices.
